It's hardly a surprise that Costa Rica real estate has quickly become one of the hottest spots for both investment property and vacation homes.Costa Rica whose name aptly means rich coast has many advantages to offer. This small country of around 4 million people is just a few hours flying time from many parts of the United States, and several US airlines offer direct flights. The country boasts a strong economy, a stable government and surprisingly good schools and medical facilities. Because of its excellent standard of living, Costa Rica is sometimes called "the Switzerland of Central America".Despite the real estate boom, housing in Costa Rica is still affordable compared to most parts of the United States. It's possible to buy a perfectly adequate family home in a decent neighborhood for less than $100,000 – compared to the US where the average cost of a home is now around $230,000. Rentals and short term accommodation are relatively inexpensive too a typical family rental house can be rented for under $500 a month; a larger home or a luxury house or condo rents for as little as $1000 a month. As an investment, Costa Rica real estate is hard to beat. Some properties have increased in value almost ten times over the last decade, a trend likely to continue. Beachfront property in particular is a safe investment because of the constant high demand. Luxury beachfront properties – still one of the most sought after investments in Costa Rica – can be purchased for significantly less than in the United States. If you are looking for a beachfront home, houses on the Caribbean coast are generally less expensive than those on the Pacific coast.Purchasing a home in Costa Rica is a relatively straightforward experience. There are virtually no restrictions on owning private land and foreign citizens have the same rights as citizens of the country. Purchasing and owning a piece of land can be accomplished without having a presence in the country.Financing is readily available from private and public banks for homes in the country, although you usually have to become a resident. Foreigners may also use the pre-tax IRAs from the US to purchase property a procedure that is both acceptable and perfectly legal. Property taxes are low in Costa Rica, varying from 0.5% to 1.5% of the total property value. And if you are thinking of living in your investment, Costa Rica real estateRica has one of the highest standards of living in Latin America. The capital, San Jose is among the least expensive capital cities in the world, and costs tend to decrease the further away you get from San Jose. Basic utilities such as electricity and water are inexpensive and heating isn't generally needed because of the warm climate the year round average temperature is 76 degrees. Entertainment, groceries and dining out are all cheap by US standards, and public transportation is efficient and affordable. And a gallon of gas costs around $2 one of the lowest rates in the Americas.Investing in real estate can be a risky business. Whereas nothing is guaranteed, the Costa Rica housing market shows no real signs of slowing down. Grab that secluded beachfront property while you can there are only so many to go around

Real Estate Development Opportunities in Costa Rica

A profitable area for real estate investment in Central America today is Costa Rica. That is also true with using computers for video editing software. Computers are being used for video editing nowadays because it saves a lot of time. If you are familiar with computers it will be a lot easy and you can finish the job in about an hour. Using computers for video editing is known as Digital Video Editing. All you have to do is just take a video or a shot then connect your camcorder to the computer. After that you can start editing it and add whatever filters or titles you want to put.

The computer will play an important part in making you video a good one. You have to download or install video editing software first. Also, check your computer. You must have a CPU processor that is fast. The CPU processor is the life of the computer for this is where information is stored. As like what they say the muscle and the brains of a computer. If the CPU is fast, it will produce better edited videos and you could check or preview the video at present time.

Large Hard Drives is also a must in using computers for video editing. You will not only use software for editing but usually the files of the video are large therefore consuming a large space on your hard drive. This is essential in creating a high quality video. It is also recommended that you get an external hard drive so that you will still have enough space for your computers hard drive. It is a good way to store your videos if you use an external hard drive. A factor to consider is the RAM that you have in your computer. It is one of the factors that will give your computer a good performance as well as create a good quality video. You may use 1GB of RAM but if you can upgrade it to 2GB it will be better.

Hardware equipment for video editing has two kinds: analog and digital. We use video capture card for analog format. This will transfer analog picture from your computer to other sources like television, analog camcorder and VCR and will format it to digital video. Firewire is also available and in demand. This video editing hardware equipment allows us to transfer the video in digital format thus making us capture the video digitally and would not have to go to the process of transferring video from analog to digital format.

With digital video editing software we can make simple videos like your summer vacation or a special occasion a quality video. Chances of making a documentary film is also big just by using digital video editing. It is less expensive. Also, the image quality will not diminish since we are using digital format. We can further enhance the video instead of making it poorer in quality. Computers will make your video editing faster, easier and would produce quality videos that you may benefit in the future.

How to Assess a Costa Rica Real Estate Project

If you are thinking of buying a piece of costa rica real estate, regardless of where it is in the world, you probably already have in your mind what you want to achieve. Knowing your goals will help you make better and wiser buying decisions. You can seek out professional advice from financial advisers or costa rica real estate consultants if you like. These professionals will help you work on the details on how to get to where you want to go.For example, you may be thinking of buying a property for investment purposes. Or you may be thinking of buying a piece of property for retirement purposes. Whatever your goal is, be clear about it, and don't be easily swayed. Make a list of what are some of the must-have elements of the property. This will be your primary list. Then make a second list of not so important elements. These are good to have, but you can live with it if they are not there. These two lists will help you a lot when you are looking out for potential properties to buy. Must the property by near water? What are some of the facilities that you would like to have? If you don't have them, can you live with it? Ask yourself these questions. You may have observed that knowing your goals will help you draft out what you want, and what you don't want. For instance, if you're buying a property solely for investment only, then your selection criteria will be very different, compared to buying a property for retirement or for vacation. When you're solely looking to buy a property for investment, you would be more concerned about rental. What will make the property more attractive to potential tenants? Are there many students or executives around looking to rent? If so, what are some of their needs? You then put aside your own list of wants for the property, and focus on what the tenants want. On the other hand, if you want to buy a property for retirement, you may then look at what are some of the facilities available, and what are some of the activities that you will enjoy.Whatever your personal or financial goals, Costa Rica may have something to offer that'll help you achieve your goals. Condo projects that are near beaches certainly look promising. There are various activities to suit the needs of everybody - from the adventurous to the mild mannered. The more adventurous crowd can try sports fishing, scuba diving, mountain biking and more. While the milder people can try bird watching, butterfly garden tours and others. For sure, the landscape and surrounding environment is as important as, if not more important than the price of the property. When assessing a Costa Rica property, you should certainly pay more attention to the unique landscaping and the natural environment of the Condo project. Seek out the experience in costa rica real estate life instead of depending on pictures on brochures if time permits. Doing so will most certainly help you look way beyond just dividing the asking price by the number of square meters. After all, it's the human experience that we all seek. And hopefully, Costa Rica possesses something that will help fulfill your dreams.

Cheap Second Home, Property for Sale, Costa Rica, Costa Rica Real Estate

If you want a cheap second home, maybe some beach front property? Great! But you don't want to do all the work it takes to find a place. Well that's okay too because there are many sites online that offer a service called Real Estate Consulting. Usually the deal here is, you tell the Consulting team what type of property you're looking for, as well as the different options you want, and they will find the home for you.For example say I want a home in Santa Ana, that has 5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms, is located next of Esczau (Beverly Hills of Costa Rica real estate), and is around $250k. Well the consulting team looks online and offline to find the right home for you, then they present these homes to you and you can either "OK" them for a viewing or you can "decline" and have them find some other homes for you. It really is that easy. And since you hired them to find your new home, don't worry about not liking what they found for you. This is what they do for a living so don't worry about "hurt feelings" or negative feelings of any sort. Just ask them, and they will happily find more homes for you.A real Estate Consultant is a type of real estate agent. They either directly or indirectly give advice, consultancy or technical assistance. In this case, they would be giving consultancy and advice to you. Some of these consultants are free, and others charge fees. If they have a website be sure to check out the FAQ section or the Terms Of Service (TOS) section. Or just ask them directly. Either way, the fees of a consultant team or firm should be less than that of a Real Estate Agent! If not then you need to look somewhere else.As with Real Estate Agents, you need to find a team or person that you can meld with easily. Someone that is willing to work with you and find you what YOU want, not what they think you want! But you the buyer, also has to be open to "suggestions." You never know what might happen or what little gem you might find by being a little open to places that you wouldn't normally look at!I had this happen a few years ago Costa Rica real estate. I was absolutely set on a certain location and a certain type of home and I didn't feel the need to be open to anything. I guess I was a little selfish. My Agent kept asking me to check out this one property in particular and I just wouldn't budge. Finally I said okay fine, show me what you got. Can I say I think it was the most beautiful location I ever thought possible. But by the time I finally stopped being pig headed, someone else had already scooped it up. And that's about the time my agent gave me the "look." The "see I know what I'm talking about" look! Put some trust into your agent or consultant, they know what they are doing!

Five reasons why American car sucks!

1. Utter lack of anything even remotely resembling a quality product (employee discount or interest free car financing can only woo certain car shoppers).
Sure, you can buy just about ANY new car or used car from any car dealer in Toronto, including the worst car from overseas and it will look good when compared to whatever domestic car which is considered to be a comparable competitor. The average quality of the American car like Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge all have fallen that much in the last few years. I remember making fun of cars like Hyundai and Kia who now produce cars that make offerings from Ford and GM look like a joke. Don’t believe me? Compare for yourself, take any run-of-the-mill Ford Fusion (Taurus?) product and compare them side-by-side with something like a Hyundai Sonata. It’s no contest, the Hyundai is better on every count, from the standard options to the fit and finish. Whatever you do, don’t even think about comparing a domestic car to something from across the pond! This situation gets even worse if you begin to compare features and what you get for your money on a domestic auto. Its no wonder both GM and Ford are circling the drain with such poor quality products nobody wants.

2. Designs that try to look smart, but end up looking cheap.
Another one of my major per peeves, the strange designs that seem to just randomly appear in Chrysler, Dodge Jeep car dealer in Toronto. Ever seen a Pontiac Aztec? If so, then you know exactly what I mean. Even more recently I had the unfortunate experience of getting a Cadillac CTS for a rental car and all I can think after a short ride is “how can this possibly be a 30k car…”. The interior (we won’t even talk about the exterior) is typical domestic flare featuring acres of cheap plastic and dash that I can only describe as “bulbous”. I have no idea what the American automakers are thinking, that we are deaf dumb and blind? If they keep producing designs that are nothing but boardroom exercises in how to share components between models then they deserve what they are getting, no sales.

3. Trying to use gimmicks to sell cars vs. just making a better car.
The big question American automakers need to ask is why do folks keep buying Toyotas and just about any foreign cars when they often don’t ever have any rebates or “sales”? The answer to this puzzle is quite simple. These successful brands are producing cars that are both a good quality product and something the consumer actually wants. Back in the day Toyota learned that in order to compete you needed to have a top quality product first, and solid designs that generated interest on the part of your target audience. This concept seems to completely escape the grasp of domestic automakers. They keep trying gimmick after gimmick after gimmick to try to lure buyers into showrooms. I understand that there are some cultural hurdles to overcome in both the manufacturing and marketing end of the domestic markets but that is really no excuse when you are facing tough times like what Ford and GM are going through.

4. Think that just by putting a Hemi in it all your problems will go away.
Everyone loves more horsepower, especially when it comes at a cheap price. Unfortunately that’s not the whole story. Sometimes slapping a high-output engine in a less-than quality body ends up in a product that tanks faster than the Titanic. Cars like the Dodge hearse…err I mean Magnum are interesting for a little while but quickly wane in favor of something with a bit more usability and style. Of course Dodge is not the only make to suffer from this problem. You can find the same “just add more power, and they will buy it” mentality at both Ford and GM with respect to slow selling models.

5. If you ignore the hybrids they will just go away.
I really have a hard time grasping how the domestic carmakers could just sit by and watch Toyota and Honda build hybrid cars and not know they were about to get pwned. I mean really, like a hybrid was not going to sell like a supermodel on a street corner. I can only wager to guess just how much cringe-factor must be going on at Ford, Chrysler, and GM boardrooms right now, and if you ask me….they deserve it.

By the Headless Vector

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

G.M. Loses $15.5 Billion in Quarter

DETROIT — The General Motors Corporation reported a stunning second-quarter loss of $15.5 billion on Friday because of a dramatic decline in United States sales and charges for job cuts, plant closings and the falling value of trucks and sport utility vehicles.

G.M., the largest American automaker, said it lost $6.3 billion on operations in the quarter that ended June 30, and its worldwide revenues fell 18 percent.

But the company’s overall loss was inflated by $9.1 billion in special charges that included $3.3 billion for buyouts of hourly workers and $2.8 billion related to the bankruptcy filing of its former parts unit, the Delphi Corporation.

The dismal earnings reflected the impact of steadily falling vehicles sales in the overall United States market, and a huge shift by consumers away from the trucks and S.U.V.’s that were once G.M.’s most profitable vehicles.

The automaker’s shares plunged in early trading, falling 97 cents, or almost 9 percent, to $10.10 at 10 a.m.

G.M.’s chairman, Rick Wagoner, said Friday that the charges to scale down the automaker’s work force and manufacturing operations were critical in its restructuring.

“As our recent product, capacity and liquidity actions clearly demonstrate, we are reacting rapidly to the challenges facing the U.S. economy and auto market, and we continue to take the aggressive steps necessary to transform our U.S. operations,” Mr. Wagoner said.

Overall sales (according to Toronto 0% car financing andn used vehicle financing in Brampton) as in the United States dropped 10 percent in the first six months. Automakers are scheduled to report their July sales later on Friday.

But while weak economic conditions and falling sales have affected nearly every automaker, Detroit’s three car companies have borne the brunt of the slowdown.

Last week, the Ford Motor Company reported a loss of $8.7 billion as it took big write-downs on the values of its North American truck plants and its inventory of used pickups and S.U.V.’s.

G.M.’s second-quarter results were worse than projected by analysts, particularly its performance in its core North American market.

The company lost $4.4 billion in North America in the period, and its revenues dropped 33 percent, from $29.7 billion to $19.8 billion. That compared with a profit of $92 million in the quarter a year ago.

While G.M.’s vehicle sales in North America fell 20 percent in the quarter, the company’s international sales grew 10 percent.

Last month, as investors speculated openly about the possibility of G.M.’s filing for bankruptcy protection, the automaker announced broad plans for further cost cuts, asset sales and debt offerings to improve its liquidity by $15 billion.

In its second-quarter report, G.M. said it had $21 billion in cash reserves and access to another $5 billion in credit.

But the automaker is burning through about $1 billion a month in cash as it tries to keep financing new product programs amid falling sales and revenues.

G.M., like its Toronto Ford dealership and Chrysler, was surprised by the abrupt shift to smaller, more fuel-efficient cars.

As gas prices rose above $4 a gallon, sales of G.M.’s large pickups and sport utility vehicles declined sharply in a market that was already trending downward.

While its overseas operations continued to perform well, G.M.’s United States sales dropped, and the company’s inventories of unsold trucks forced it to scale back production in the United States dramatically.

.

In June, Mr. Wagoner said the company would close four assembly plants making pickups and S.U.V.’s by 2010 and slash 500,000 units of vehicle production.

And in a move that symbolized the end of the S.U.V. era, Mr. Wagoner said that G.M. had begun a “strategic review” toward a likely sale of its Hummer brand.

Besides cutting truck and S.U.V. production, G.M. also announced plans to add third shifts at two plants to increase the output of smaller cars.

The automaker stepped up its cutbacks in the United States by offering another round of buyout and early retirement programs to its hourly workers. About 19,000 workers — or a quarter of its unionized work force — accepted the offers and agreed to leave the company.

But even as G.M. kept cutting, speculation grew among investors this summer that the automaker was running dangerously short on cash reserves.

With G.M.’s stock dropping to $10 a share and analysts suggesting G.M. might file for bankruptcy protection, the company announced another round of cost cuts in mid-July.

G.M. said it would bolster its liquidity by $15 billion through a combination of cutbacks, asset sales, and debt offerings.

On July 15, Mr. Wagoner outlined a plan that included a 20-percent reduction in salaried personnel costs, the elimination of health-care coverage for white-collar retirees past the age of 65, and cuts in advertising and marketing budgets and capital expenditures.

For more information on other Toronto car financing service, please take a look at the car blog.
Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://auto101today.blogspot.com/2008/08/gm-loses-155-billion-in-quarter.html' title='G.M. The mythical beast, which joins the head and wings of an eagle to the body of a lion, appears more three-dimensional; previous versions of the griffin were flat.

The Opel logo, a stylized lightning bolt, also gets more depth in the redesign, though the general shape is unchanged.

With these updates, General Motors joins other automakers, including Volvo, Fiat, Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz, that have recently refreshed or redesigned their logos, seeking an edge in a difficult market.

Can a new logo really make a difference?

“Many of these manufacturers slightly erroneously think that if they sharpen up their logos, it will sharpen up their designs, too,” said Giles Chapman, an automotive writer based in London who is the author of a book about car emblems.

But some carmakers say a logo can help make a difference. A little more than a year ago, Fiat replaced its blue circular emblem, with a red shield featuring the Fiat name in tall, elongated letters. The switch has coincided with an upturn in the carmaker’s fortunes.Giorgio Brenna, chief executive of the Western European operations of Leo Burnett, an advertising agency that works with Fiat, said the change reflected an effort to reconnect with Italian consumers put off by Fiat’s association with the exploits of the longtime controlling family, the Agnellis. (Leo Burnett is part of the Publicis Groupe.)

The new design harks back to a logo that appeared on the company’s cars from the 1930s through the late 1960s. Its most prominent use had been on a new version of the Fiat 500, the Italian people’s car of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s — a time when, Mr. Brenna said, there was more of a community spirit in Italy.

In trying to get closer to consumers as it was putting the finishing touches on the new 500, Fiat set up a Web site where people could contribute design ideas.

“The new Fiat is a human brand, not just a financial holding company,” Mr. Brenna said. “The logo itself is a summary of all these characteristics.”

Mr. Visser of G.M. said the change in the Opel and Vauxhall logos was accompanied by big changes in the product lineup, culminating in the introduction of the Insignia, a midsize car. By giving the logos a more modern look, he said, G.M. meant to underscore Opel and Vauxhall’s recent emphasis on technology.

“A changed logo should be a symbol that something more fundamental has changed,” he said. “There has to be substance behind it.”

G.M. says there is indeed substance in its recent performance in Europe, which contrasts with the automaker’s troubles in the United States. Sales in Europe rose 2.8 percent in the first half of the year to 1.16 million, the company says, with markets like Russia performing particularly well.

G.M. executives say the company’s multibrand strategy has helped its success. G.M. sells cars under a range of names. In Europe the brands include Vauxhall, Opel, Saab, Cadillac and Chevrolet, which G.M. recently introduced in Europe for cars produced in South Korea and previously sold under the Daewoo name.

It also sells cars like the Insignia under a range of brands. While the car is a Vauxhall or an Opel in Europe, it will be sold as a Buick in China. And G.M. is widely expected to sell the car in the United States within a few years as a Saturn.

G.M.’s indiscriminate use of brands and logos contrasts with the caution of some other automakers, particularly German ones, whose badges have become instantly associated with high-end consumerism.

Mercedes, for instance, has also been quietly phasing in a new logo in its marketing material — a two-dimensional version of its three-pointed star, replacing a shaded 3-D design. But the shaped version of the star is still being used on Mercedes cars.

General Motors, by contrast, is trying to attract attention to the changes in the Opel and Vauxhall logos. The company is spending “well over £5 million,” or $10 million, just to replace the signs at British Vauxhall dealers, said Andy Gilson, Vauxhall’s marketing director.

Last Monday, at a publicity event in a park near Tower Bridge in London, the car, encased in a spacecraftlike container, was hoisted about 150 feet by a crane. Then it was lowered rapidly to the ground, as hundreds of spectators watched.

“Does a new logo make a difference? Ford took charges of $5.3 billion charge related to lower asset values in North America and $2.1 billion on the lease portfolio at its financing arm, the Ford Motor Credit Company.

The news sent Ford shares tumbling nearly 10 percent in morning trading.

Excluding the write-downs and other charges, the company lost $1 billion from continuing operations, down from a profit of $483 million a year ago. It lost $1.3 billion in North America, where $4-a-gallon gasoline has caused consumers to clamor for more fuel-efficient vehicles.

Ford said it would cut production for the rest of the year by an additional 105,000 vehicles, for a total reduction of 26 percent compared with the second half of 2007.

Then, it plans to overhaul three truck factories in North America so they can build small cars and double production of gas-electric hybrid vehicles next year.

Among the cars that Ford will start building and selling in North America are six small cars from Europe, where years of high gasoline have educated automakers how to earn larger profits on those vehicles than they have historically generated in the United States.

“External conditions in North America have changed dramatically in a very short period of time,” said Mark Fields, the president of Ford’s Americas division. “While we have no intention of giving up our longtime truck leadership, we are creating a new Ford in North America on a foundation of small, fuel-efficient cars and crossovers.” (see the new fuel effeiency cars in Toronto Ford Dealership).

In the second quarter of 2007, Ford earned a profit of $750 million, or 31 cents a share. In April, the company surprised Wall Street with a $100 million first-quarter profit, but the market for its most profitable vehicles has deteriorated swiftly since then.

Revenue fell to $38.6 billion in the second quarter from $44.2 billion a year ago, in part because the company has sold three European brands — Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin.

Ford’s automotive operations earned a profit in every region except North America, where the company eliminated 4,000 hourly jobs in the last three months and is working to cut 15 percent of salaried costs by Aug. 1. Revenue in North America dropped 25 percent to $14.2 billion, from $19 billion.

Ford Motor Credit, which until recently had been a consistent source of income, reported a $294 million loss excluding its write-downs, compared with a $112 million profit last year.

Ford executives said they expected the United States market to remain sluggish through next year and that the nation’s economy would not recover significantly until 2010. The company’s chief financial officer, Don R. Leclair, said Ford had $26.6 billion in cash on hand, down $10.8 billion from a year ago but enough to sustain its restructuring.

“We have absolutely the right plan to respond to the changing business environment and begin to grow again for the long term,” the chief executive, Alan R. Mulally, said.

Ford is relying on small cars to fuel that growth, rather than the high-profit big trucks and S.U.V.’s that propelled it through recent decades. It plans to retool a sport utility vehicle factory in Michigan and begin making compact cars there in 2010. An S.U.V. plant in Kentucky will start building small cars in 2011. The company has already announced plans to build a new subcompact car, the Fiesta, at a former truck factory in Mexico.

Meanwhile, a plant in St. Paul, Minn., that was scheduled to close next year will stay open through 2011 to continue building the Ford Ranger, a compact pickup for which demand has increased as drivers downsize from full-size pickups.

Ford also plans to double its capacity to build fuel-efficient, four-cylinder engines in North America by 2011.

At the same time, it will reduce costs by paring the number of different platforms on which its cars worldwide are based to 9 from 25 today.

Ford’s sales fell 14 percent in the first half of the year, compared with 10.1 percent for the industry overall. But in June alone, Ford’s sales were off 27.9 percent, including a 35.3 percent drop for its trucks.

The disappointing performance led executives to back away from the company’s previous goal of returning to profitability next year. Ford is now expected to lose money for a fourth consecutive year in 2009.

The automaker has already been slowing production of its larger vehicles, while running plants that make the Ford Focus compact car and other sedans on overtime. It is delaying the introduction of its redesigned full-size pickup truck, the 2009 F-series, for two months this fall while dealers grapple with an oversupply of the current model.

The F-series has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States for 26 years, but in May and June it suddenly fell to fifth, behind four Japanese sedans.

The deteriorating market for Ford’s most profitable vehicles caused shares of the company to lose nearly half their value in a two- month period. The stock fell to a 23-year low of $4.30 on July 3.

That drop occurred even as the billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian increased his stake in Ford and expressed optimism about the automaker’s future under Mr. Mulally. As of mid-June, Mr. Kerkorian owned 140.8 million shares of Ford, which he bought for as much as $8.50 each.

If you are interested in getting a Ford car financing in Toronto, please visit us at Dixie Ford!!

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

A great dealership in Scarborugh

Scarborough car dealer in Toronto Canada. First and foremost, you need to examine your budget. You should set a reasonable price range for the car and begin to eliminate cars that are out of that price range. As a potential car buyer, you need to be realistic, don't fantasize about a $45,000 car when your budget will just barely support a $22,000 price-tag. Also, remember that trying to figure out a way to buy a car that is outside your price range is really not a good idea. After all, it's not much fun to have a car if you can't afford to go places in it.

You also need to know about your own credit history. If there's something that you think the dealer will ask, that's certainly something you should be prepared to answer. Many of the promotions that you see on television are reserved just for people with excellent credit. So having a copy of your own credit report is important, especially when you want to apply for car finance or car loan later on. There are a variety of places to obtain a copy of your credit report. All of the three large national credit bureaus -- Equifax, Experian and TransUnion -- offer single reports and packages from their Web sites. A copy of your report costs $9 plus any taxes, shipping and/or handling charges. You can even get 3-in-1 reports, showing your credit history as reported by all three major credit reporting agencies. For example, the 3-in-1 package available from the Equifax Web site currently costs $29.95.

Finally, you need to know what your automobile needs are:

* Do you need to haul heavy equipment? You may want to think about a pick-up truck.
* Do you have a sizeable family or head up a carpool? You may want to think about a minivan, wagon or large sport utility vehicle (SUV).
* Do you live in an area where you need four-wheel drive? You may want to think about an SUV with all-wheel or four-wheel drive.
* Do you travel far or use the car rarely? If you log a lot of miles, you may want to research cars that get good gas mileage, like a hybrid car.
* Do you have a towing requirement -- perhaps you need to tow a horse trailer or a boat? You may want to consider a heavy-duty pick-up truck or an SUV with a towing package.

There's a vast amount of choices for today's car buyer. Knowing what your automobile needs are is the easiest way to begin eliminating some of those options. Eventually, with some additional research, you should be able to narrow the field down considerably.

About the Car
When you figure out what car you want (or what cars you want to check out up-close-and-personal -- think "test-drive"), there are some things you want to learn about the car(s) so that you can get the best deal possible when you're ready to buy. You will need to know the average price of the car, so you won't overpay. You can get a good idea of the base price (the price of the car without any special options) by visiting different dealerships and comparing prices and by using the Internet to get price quotes. You should also get an idea of how much the dealer will add on for various options like air conditioning, a cd player or anti-lock brakes. If you can, try to find out what the dealer price is and negotiate up from that figure. According to ConsumerReports, it's actually a lot better to do it that way as opposed to working from the sticker-price down.

In addition to visiting dealerships to do your research, you should also be reading car reviews in magazines and online. You can learn which cars are given high marks for safety, which cars get the best gas mileage, and so on. Once you've narrowed your list down to a few possibilities, you should read as many reviews on those makes and models as you can. Some good places to look for both professional and consumer car reviews are:

* MotorTrend magazine
* ConsumerGuide.com
* Automobile magazine
* Car and Driver.com
* Edmunds.com
* CarReview.com

Another good way to find out about a car is by simply asking your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. Among all these people, you're bound to find someone that drives or has driven the make or model you're researching.

Finally, if you plan to trade in a car you already own, you want to know the price of your trade-in. Remember that some used car dealers make big money paying you way too little for your trade-in. Do your homework and check out what publications, such as the N.A.D.A. Official Used Car Guide, the Kelley Blue Book and the Consumer Reports Used Car Buying Guide, list as the market value of your trade-in. Keep in mind that these estimates are based on cars in good condition with an average of 12,000 miles per year. So, if your car has been driven less than or more than that, the price could go up or down accordingly. If you have enough information, no one will be able to take you for a ride!

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

Need a car loan?

Do you have bad credit? But at the end of the day, it's all advertising.

First of all, only about one third of buyers who apply for 0% financing actually qualify for it, according to Steve Schooff of Capital One Auto Finance.

The people who do qualify have top notch credit. We're talking scores over 750 generally, says Rob Gentile of Consumer Reports.

And don't forget, these are incentives by the manufacturer, so make sure you get some freebies from the dealership too.

2: Get independent financing

Your weapon against dealership antics is to secure independent car loan or car financing before you go to the showroom.

There is less game-playing when you apply for a car loan at a local bank, online or at a credit union, says Philip Reed of Edmunds.com. Check out Bankrate.com to review rates at a number of lenders.

The upside is that the lender has to meet or beat that rate. And if the local bank has given you a specific car loan amount, the dealer can't focus entirely on the monthly payment.

And monthly financing is where dealers will try to take the most advantage of you, according to Reed.

Get you car finance at Scarborough bad credit car dearlership.

3: Know your habits

Think about how long you're going to keep the car when you're considering financing. You don't want to pay off your car in six or seven years if you generally only keep cars for 5 years.

There's no reason to pay for a car you don't even drive anymore. Over time, that money can really add up.

4: Unbundle the deal

When you negotiate, make sure you do it in three parts. First, negotiate the final vehicle price. Don't get caught up in the monthly payment. Check out the bottom line price. It may be hundreds or thousands below the invoice price.

To do your homework, check out ConsumerReports.com and Edmunds.com. Then you'll want to negotiate your financing. This is where you can focus on just how much you're able to spend per month.

Experts say your monthly car payments and related expenses should not exceed about 20 percent of your monthly net income. And finally, don't forget to negotiate your trade-in value.

5: Skip the extras

The dealer is going to try and get you to buy into the bells and whistles. Here are some examples of things you won't need: The extended warranty.

As long as you're not buying a lemon, you won't need the extended warranty, says Gentile. Basic warranties have become more generous.

Plus, dealers make a ton of cash from these things he says. You'll want to avoid "package protection" deals. This means the fabric or the dashboard has been cleaned with a protective cleaning fluid.

And forget the charge for etching in the VIN, or vehicle ID number. You can usually get this service free from your local police department.

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

Get Car Financing

Scarborough car financing company, provides the best rate vehicle loan for used autos, preowned cars and new automobiles

The advantage of finance your car:

Do you dream of a car that is faster? more efficient? more suitable for a new family member?

You may find that shopping around for the best car finance rate can be a hassle.
Advantage Loans know you'll want the lowest repayments possible with a finance company you can trust, and if you've already read the About Us page you'll know that Advantage Loans can find just that.

There’s quite a variety of options available to everyone for getting car finance these days which can get confusing at times. If you are looking to get a loan for either a new or used car, Advantage Loans is the place to start.

Budgeting: overall price, or monthly payment?

There are two basic approaches to deciding your spending limit. The most obvious one is to have a maximum car price in mind; for example $12,000. If you’re paying cash, this is pretty easy, because you know how much money you have. It’s worth remembering, though, that even if you could afford to buy $12,000 car outright, a $20,000 car might be better value based on your needs and wants.

Calculating your monthly limit

Most people do plan to borrow some money to help finance cars. In that case, the more meaningful measure is the monthly payment.
To figure out how much you can afford to part with each month, do a quick calculation. List down your mortgage or rent payment, the amount you spend on groceries, utilities, insurance, council tax, other loans, pensions or savings and any other regular payments. Total up these and take the total away from your net monthly income. Then, take away your proposed monthly car payment. What’s left is your spending money: for clothes, emergencies, eating out, holidays, and so on: make sure there’s enough to cover these expenses.

How to bargain

Whether you've fixed a monthly budget and a deposit (which might be only your part exchange) or a cash spending limit, if you’re not sure what car you want, you can adopt an interesting approach to car shopping. Go to a number of car suppliers, and tell them upfront what you can afford to spend, and what your requirements are from your car (see the article Deciding Priorities for help with that). Tell them you're looking for a good deal and you don't care what the car is. Then, you can compare the packages that they come up with, and pick the one that appeals to you the most.

Don't forget the extras

Another factor to bring into play is running costs. Don’t forget that fuel, servicing, insurance and so on all need to be factored into your motoring budget – and generally, the more expensive a car is new, the more expensive it is to run. Don’t assume what these expenses are going to be – find out by getting quotes. Deciding how much you can afford to spend on a car is a very personal decision. The trick is to make sure you get a car you’re happy with.

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

Used Car financing at Toronto car finance dealer

Used car financing allows car buyers to take out loans when buying a vehicle. I've seen many cars with these devices stuck right in the middle of the glass.

A: The provincial Highway Traffic Act prohibits having any object obstructing the driver's view through the windshield or windows.

Section 73(1) HTA states that "no person shall drive a motor vehicle upon a highway, with any sign, poster or other non-transparent material or object placed on the windshield or on any window of such motor vehicle; or with any object placed in, hung on or attached to the motor vehicle, in a manner that will obstruct the driver's view of the highway or any intersecting highway."

To avoid possibly running afoul of the law, it might be best to mount your GPS unit to the front of the dash (not on top) below the level of the windshield.

For safety, motorists should only rely on audio directions from the GPS rather than watching the screen when driving.

Charges under S. 73(1) HTA carry a $110 penalty. And, yes, before you write in, I'm aware that police themselves often have equipment (radar, large strobes etc.) mounted on their cruiser dashboard that blocks the driver's clear view of the road ahead. No exemption for police under this section of the HTA could be located.

Ontario Transportation Ministry spokesperson Bob Nichols adds:

Safe driving requires that you focus your attention on driving .

Navigation devices, when used properly, can make driving safer by helping to guide you to your destination with audio instructions as you drive. The risks associated with these devices typically occur when drivers try to manually reprogram them while driving.

Drivers who fail to pay attention to the driving task can face severe consequences.

For example, a "careless driving" conviction under S. 130 of the Highway Traffic Act carries a fine of up to $1,000, six demerit points, possible jail time, and a driver's licence suspension. Alternatively, a "dangerous driving" conviction under S. 249 of the Criminal Code of Canada carries a maximum $2,000 fine and up to five years in jail. The ministry will further examine this issue to see what next-generation driver distraction legislation could look like.

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

Scarborough used car dealership

Toronto Scarborough used car dealership, Scarborotown Chrysler, offers vehicle loans designed specially for auto, car and truck buyers with credit problems. Visit us if you need car financing or a car loan for your new or used car purchase!

Not only you could know how to drive well, but also there are things you can keep in mind.If you remember that, you will pass your driving test more smoothly.

Tips on passing your driving exam:

The first thing to check your turn signals, brake lights and headlights before you ever leave home. These will be tested before you ever leave the parking lot for your road test. Make certain you have any paperwork that must be turned in, and take your learner's permit with you. So remember bring a licensed driver to travel to the testing location with. Getting turned down and rescheduled is not an auspicious beginning to this banner day in your life.

You should be on time to get to the testing location. Most license bureaus are quite crowded and there are sometimes long waits beyond your appointed time. Bring a book to keep you occupied in the lobby if this happens to you.

Either don't bring you cell phone and turn it on,leave your cell phone at home or turn it off. It is not a good time to receive a phone call in the middle of your road test. Try to relax with your examiner. Be friendly, but let him do most of the talking. Remember, he does not know you, and he is about to go into traffic not knowing if you can drive safely or not. He may be as nervous as you are!

Listen to your tester carefully. He won't ask you to do any maneuvers you have not already become familiar with in your driving manual. Hopefully you will have learned it and practiced a great deal. If you're unconfident what it is he wants you to do, ask for clearing. He would prefer you understand his request than have you do something wrong, or dangerous.

When you are driving keep your eyes on the road as much as possible . Check your speedometer ofttimes but briefly. Do the same with your rear-view mirrors. Your examiner needs to know that you are aware of the traffic around you. This tells him you're prepared to respond in case of an accident or unexpected move by another vehicle.

Practice parallel parking every chance you get until it becomes second nature to you,three-point turns are also difficult for some. So be prepared with the maneuvers many people have trouble with. Go over these and anything else that gives you trouble. Remember the rules for three- or four-way stops. Go to a location where you can practice these, but remember to watch out for other drivers. They aren’t as freshly tutored in the rules as you are.

Brake as equally as you can. Use your turn signals at all times when making lane changes, or right/left turns. Do what the examiner asks you to do with as much finesse as you can muster.

Stay calm and trust the examiner. For drivers ages 15 to 17 the decline was 6 per cent and for ages 18 to 21 it was 3.2 per cent.

The study looked at fatalities from 1985 to 2006, when gas prices reached about $2.50 a U.S. gallon. With gas now averaging more than $4 a gallon, Morrisey said he expects to see a drop of about 1,000 deaths a month.

With annual auto deaths typically ranging from about 38,000 to 40,000 a year, a drop of 12,000 deaths would cut the total by nearly a third, Morrisey said.

"I think there is some silver lining here in higher gas taxes in that we will see a public health gain," Grabowski said. But he cautioned that their estimate of a decline of 1,000 deaths a month could be offset somewhat by the shift under way to smaller, lighter, more fuel-efficient cars, more preowned cars, and the increase in motorcycle and scooter driving.

Morrisey said the study also found the "same kind of symmetry'' between gas prices and auto deaths when prices go down.

"When that happens we drive more, we drive bigger cars, we drive faster and fatalities are higher," he said.

Morrisey and Grabowski presented their findings to a meeting of the American Society of Health Economists in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., last month. The study was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

The best used car dealership get your pre-owned vehicle!

Look for your next car at this Toronto preowned auto dealership. The large open intention also admits mud to clear more quickly from between the lugs.

These tires are not well suitable to on-road use without reference to what composition and tread pattern they have. The open step invention of these tires provides lesser contact area with the road, so limiting traction. They can in addition to be noisy at highway speeds; that is the reason why they are not that suitable for on-road use.

Generally used on SUV's and light trucks, these mud tires often have stiffer sidewalls for greater resistance against puncture when traveling off-road. Again, the tread pattern proves useful again as it offers wider spacing than all-season tires to remove mud from the tread.

Nowadays, their revolutionary designs provide impressive traction on whatever type of road you are going to take. The patterns on them are also designed to prevent large stone retention.

Off road drivers who are into adventurous 4WD actions are the ones that will greatly enjoy the benefits of mud tires. Unpaved roads, such as sand, gravel, riverbeds, mud, snow, rocks and other natural terrain calls for special tires, extra ground clearance and front and rear locking differential.

Also due to mud tires for trucks , recreational off-roading has become popular among a sub-section of 4wheel drive or all terrain vehicles and motor owners. If the vehicle has excessive tears on the interior, it may actually be a good indicator of a vehicle's mileage without even looking at the odometer. In addition, dampness and musty odors, while those cannot indicate the excess mileage, it points to the potential leaks in the weatherstripping, windshield or the vehicle's heater core. For that reason, think twice before considering the purchase.

Nowadays, everyday there are many people who purchase used car to replace an older one because there maybe have previous problems with the engine. But most of people can not think of buying a used engine to getting into a new car,it is a great choice ,but it can be risky business if you don't know what to look for.

Why is it risky? One of the things that makes it so risky is the fact that there is no legal requirement to maintain the engine to any standard, or to keep any kind of accurate log.

So the first thing to look for some kind of service record on the engine or a Car-Fax statement showing the gasoline mileage as listed by the DMV. If it is not there, the engine may not be the right one that you want to get. At least,I see one engine every month that was bought used and was fudged as being much fresher than what it actually was. Almost every such case, the buyer was told that the engine had only been "reconstructed", or that it has only been "broken in." Actually the engine had over 100K miles and had been sitting in the rain for 2 years rusted up solid.

"Rebuilt" is a relative term, and should not be relied on as an indication of quality unless there is a detailed service record describing exactly what was done with the engine and when it was done. The service records that get sent back with one of my rebuilds is usually about 2 - 3 pages single spaced, and every little detail of the engine service is in there. Without that kind of records, "rebuilt" could mean new seals and gaskets, or it could mean new crank, pistons, bearings, seals, and gaskets. That is a big difference.

Just make certain to discover if paperwork comes with a reconstructed engine and find out who did the rebuild and see if that is a reputable company.

And also you should know something else to consider when buying a used or rebuilt engine:

The age in years of the engine: If the engine is 10 years old be sure you do not get a quotation as if it had 20,000 miles on it because this is extremely improbable. Consider the number of years old time 12K miles per year. As well, check how long its been sitting, compression tests if possible and a car-fax certification on the VIN. If the engine has not been ran in a while be sure to ask them to start before sending it. Even on an engine that is ran, if it's not ran a few miles per year, there is too much down time and pistons can lock up etc.

In addition to do a check up of the company you are buying from. I'm not suggesting going on a witch hunt to see if they have every had a complaint but maybe check the Better Business Bureau to see if they have a satisfactory record. This just means that though they get complaints (what business doesn't) they handle them according to BBB standards which, by the way, are fairly stringent. You just can't go around selling junk engines and get away with it for long.

Before you replace your car, overall buying a GTA new or preowned vehicle or a used engine is definitely the way to go unless the cost of the engine is more than the value of the car if sold.

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

Bankrupt but need a car?

Need a car but don't know where to start? Beyond a handful of hydrogen stations, such as the one near Los Angeles International Airport, there just isn’t anywhere to fill up.

This has resulted in a kind of chicken-and-egg situation, where car companies, such as fuel-cell pioneers Honda, are reluctant to mass-produce hydrogen-powered cars until a comprehensive refueling system is established, and infrastructure providers won’t move until there are enough cars to make stations economically viable.

Step forward ITM Power, a UK company that has developed a hydrogen refueling station that could be installed at home, providing a ready-made solution for fuel-cell car owners.

The station works via an electrolyser, which produces the gas from water and electricity, providing enough hydrogen overnight to fuel a 25 mile journey. If required, the unit, which has been tested on a converted Ford Focus, can also convert the gas back into electricity for use in the home.

According to Chief Executive Jim Heathcote, the unit, which is currently only a prototype, could be produced on a commercial scale by the end of the year, at an initial cost of £2,000 (around $4,000). He also anticipates that home-based systems could eventually be supplemented by more powerful stations in public places, capable of producing enough hydrogen for a 100 mile journey.

Speaking at a showcase launch event in Sheffield he said, “Given the pressing need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, especially oil, and to cut CO2 emissions, the future for hydrogen as an alternative means of storing and utilising energy cost-effectively has never been brighter.”

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

Buy your first car in Toronto Canada

Buying a used car is always your first choice in Toronto. Scarborotown Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd. is a successful "FIVE STAR" car dealership in Toronto with over two decades of experience and thousands of satisfied customers. They offer a wide selection of new, used and pre-owned vehicles suitable for various budgets and preferences. More importantly, they offer "ownership peace of mind". The polished and professional team members can converse in multiple languages including English, Italian, Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, Pashto, Punjabi, Tamil, Sinhala, Urdu and Korean to help you through the process. You have many options to choose from for financing your purchase, from an auto loan to a car lease. Let the experts at this car dealership help you make sense of the confusing world of car financing in Toronto.

Generally comparable to the interest rate of financing a loan, leasing a luxury car imposes lower costs. Yet, if you finish a lease early or default on a every month lease payment, you can face major financial penalties and ruin your credit rating. The conclusion of whether to buy or lease a vehicle as well depends upon your unique life style. If you drive a lot of miles annually and do not mind paying repair bills, you likely should buy your car. On the other hand if you surpass the mileage limitation or if the car shows considerable wear and tear at the end of the lease, you might discover yourself paying large end-of-lease costs.

Is it better to buy or lease? When you are thinking about getting a new car, you always think about it.Of courseThere is no one single answer. Each selection has profits and disadvantages, so the option depends on your own particular personal and financial circumstances.

Is your job situation stable? Are you in overall good financial shape? It is the key issue. The short-term monthly expense associated with leasing a car is much lower than the monthly payments required when purchasing a vehicle. With leasing, you pay only for the part of the vehicle's cost used during the period of time you drive it. If you have the cash on hand, and you can pay the down payment and sales taxes - either in cash or via a loan - as well as the interest rate buying a car gives you that feeling of ownership and may be the best financial option.

Now leasing is your best option If you prefer to get your hands on a luxury car, but you can't afford the initial costs associated with buying one. Leasing a luxury car imposes lower costs, generally comparable to the interest rate of financing a loan. However, if you terminate a lease early or default on a monthly lease payment, you could face major financial penalties and this could ruin your credit rating. Before you decide to lease, make sure you adjust your budget for the monthly lease payment for the duration of the contract.

Also relate your unique lifestyle, whether to buy or lease a vehicle. What does it mean to you to own a car? Do you bond with your car, or do you like having something new? If you plan to drive a vehicle for more than five years, buying it - through careful negotiations - is probably your best bet. On the other hand, if you would rather drive a new car every two or three years, leasing is for you.

Yyour actual transportation is also important to consider. Think about how many miles per year you drive and how you handle car maintenance. If you drive many miles each year and don't mind paying repair bills, you probably should purchase your car. With leasing, contracts are made with assumptions of limited mileage, typically between 12,000 to 15,000 miles driven per year, as well as considerations of wear-and-tear on the vehicle. If you can stay within the stated mileage limits and keep the automobile in good condition throughout the duration of your lease, leasing is a reasonable option. However, if you exceed the mileage limitation or if the car shows considerable wear and tear at the end of the lease, you may find yourself paying large end-of-lease costs.

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!

Ajax used car dealer auto selling

MoreVillage used cars, one of the most famous used car dealer is a Ajax used car dealer located at 19 Harwood Ave. just south of Kingston Road. We look forward to hearing from you.

Tips for you new car protection:

Protect you new car, there is nothing quite like the feeling of getting a new car, it would be really nice if your car could be new the whole time you own it. At least the line when you come to sell it you will sell it quicker, easier and get more money for it because a few years down .you're likely agreeing with me, however so few people do anything much to keep the car in it's current condition. You'll likely run it through a car wash once in a while, maybe get it detailed/valeted once a year but that's it... what else is there you can do?

The 1st thing you had better all of the time do is consider your old car with a critical eye, work out what is wrong with it. The chances are that unless you change your habits and so your new car will finish looking a lot like your old one. For example, are there scratches down the sides? What made this? Was it the kids trying to squeeze past with their bikes? Was it caused by overhanging bushes on your driveway?

What about Kerb marks on the wheels?scuffs and wear on the seats? Stone chips on the front? At present is your opportunity to play at CSI. If you'll be able to work out the cause of the wear or damage, there's a fair chance you'll be able to change your ways and prevent it happening once again to your new car.

Protective car coatings

Nowadays you can now get protective coatings for just about every part of a car. You wouldn't think about running your engine without oil because you know that the moving parts need the oil's protective qualities to prevent wear, so it makes sense to apply a protective sacrificial barrier to the parts of a car which make up its general appearance. These days cars are very reliable so when buying a used car the expectation is that it will be mechanically sound, this means that the value will be judged mainly on cosmetic appearance.

Car Wheels

I'll start off with the wheels (not bodywork) because no other singe factor can make or break a car's overall appearance. Tatty wheels add years to a car. There are now a number of wheel protectors on the market that are really effective. They are much like a car wax but especially designed to protect alloy, painted and chrome wheels which are closer to the road and take more punishment than any other part of the car. These wheel protection products will make your wheels easier to clean and prevent stains (but they aren't bullet proof, so don't bump your car up and down kerbs. Scuffs and kerb marks are to be avoided at all costs). Ensure that you clean your wheels often to prevent a build-up of brake dust which harbours corrosive contaminants, re-applying your wheel protector each time. One final word on wheels. If your dealership offers you an alternative to chrome wheels - take it! This 'bling' may look good on a new car but chrome wheels are murder to keep clean and free of stains. And should you kerb your wheels they are very expensive to refurbish.

Stone Chips

It is are almost impossible to avoid Stone chips, but there are two ways to reduce them. The first is to reduce your speed and keep your distance from the car in-front. The second is to have a stone-chip film fitted to your car. This is a thing rubbery clear film which absorbs the impact of flying objects (including bugs which can cause more damage than you might think!). The a good quality and properly fitted film is virtually invisible but will make a huge ifference.Depending on the size and style of your car it costs around £300 to £600 which may seem a lot, until you consider the cost of a respray and the effect this can have on your car's residual value.

Car Bodywork

Paint protection technology has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years. Not only does this mean that your paintwork can stay fresh looking, but you have to put in less work! You no longer have to wax and polish your car every couple of weeks, the 3, 5, and 7 year paint protection packages offered at the dealerships are very effective. The market leaders in the UK are Supagard and Diamondbrite and although they can be quite a lot of money, they are worth every penny -- not only will you gain this money back when you sell, but you will spend far less of your precious free time cleaning, waxing and polishing your car.

As good as they are, you still have to clean your car, and this is where most people hit problems. Don't use an automated car wash if you value your paintwork. The brushes used are far too harsh and scratch your paintwork, the touchless washes are not as bad but don't get your car very clean. All-in-all just stay clear of them.

The next option is the one most people seem to be going for these days, and that is the hand car wash. It seems the going rate is around £5. I can only tell you that there is a huge danger that you will get what you pay for... which is somebody who is over-worked-and-under-paid, scrubbing their car down with dirty water and a manky old sponge! They don't care about your car, they don't even care about getting it clean, they only care about getting it done and moving on to the next one. The results can be horrific and often I have seen paintwork damaged beyond repair. They aren't all bad but choose wisely, watch these people working before you buy. Stay well clear of the supermarket washes and only go to a proper company with a fixed location.

The only way is to clean the car yourself if you really want the job done properly, . I cannot recommend this enough, besides being good exercise (and lets face it, I need it!) it also allows you to thoroughly inspect your car meaning you can keep on top of any problems and get them fixed as soon as possible, which is the best way.

Upholstery

It is an enticement to buy many cars these days because of leather. if you are the kind of person who likes to wear blue jeans, keep in mind, that your upholstery will finish stained blue and scored by rivets in no time at all. Leather just doesn't suit everybody, such as people with dogs! There are a number of companies producing seat covers including ones especially for protecting your car from pets. Leather wears less when it is supple so condition it twice a year and maybe 3 times a year for convertibles.

Fabric can be treated with chemicals which are a bit like Scotchgard which is provided on household carpets. It doesn't stop them getting dirty but it does prevent permanent stains and makes them much easier to clean. Maintain them by wiping them over with a damp microfibre cloth every couple of weeks.

Little and often

Be abrasive, dirt is what causes much of the wear to your car. On the exterior it can also harbour corrosive contaminants which eat away at paintwork. So clean regularly, this will also make your life easier because it's easy to clean a car which is already fairly clean.

Cars and Trucks and Vans, Oh My!
